Korea international cooperation agency KOICA in Uzbekistan and IT Park Uzbekistan hold a meeting

TASHKENT, November 30. /“Dunyo IA”/. Korea international cooperation agency in Uzbekistan and IT Park Uzbekistan hold a mutual meeting, within the framework of conducting implementation survey of the Project “Building foundation and strengthening capabilities for sustainable growth of Uzbekistan IT Park” (hereinafter refer to as Project) (2021-2025), the budget of the Project is 4,5 mln. USD. Funds will be allocated on grant aid basis, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

Director of the KOICA Uzbekistan Ms. Park Sunjin, Deputy Director Ms. Hyun Youn Jo and CEO of IT Park Mr. Farkhod Ibragimov and other representatives of bоth Parties are participated in the meeting CEO of IT Park.

The results of implementation survey of the Project were presented as well as issues of long term perspectives of mutual collaboration IT Park were discussed.

Korean experts were participating the meeting via zoom call: Ms. Kim Yangjin – Educational/consulting programs (Gyeongbuk Technopark), Ms. Yoon Hyun Young – Operational Master plan development (Korean Technopark Association), Mr. Lim Jin Ho - Equipment and IT-system and development (Dain Leaders), Ms. Jiwoon Jeong – project support, Sasha Sternik – local consultant on digital economy and start up ecosystem development in Uzbekistan.

Within one month from October 27 November 26 consultant and K-experts hold more than 15 online sessions interviewing government and international organizations representatives, as well as ministries, agencies, private and government companies, universities, tenants of IT Park, who is involve in the development process of information technologies in Uzbekistan, including UNDP Uzbekistan, World Bank, OSCE and other organizations, ministries, agencies and IT companies. These sessions were hold to perform deep analysis and research of IT market conditions in Uzbekistan, discussing development plans, collaboration and correct direction in cooperation between organizations and IT Park.   

In the period from 2021 to 2025 the long-term Operational Master plan for IT Park will be developed in order to strengthen capacity building of the IT Park personnel as well as provide support in equipping to improve infrastructure, educational IT programs and material and technical basis.
